Thanks Anne Coulter

I was watching TV the other night and stopped on MSNBC's "The Big Idea" with Donny Deutsch, who is evidently a "poor lost Jew" as am I. When I saw this blonde, bony lady with an Adam's Apple I thought I would see what it was about, and how it had to do with entrepreneurship, the theme of Mr. Deutsch's program. I read something about making money on extreme viewpoints at the screen's bottom. Sounded interesting like most of his shows.

Anne Coulter was the person on, and I have heard of her before and her extremist right wing viewpoints. Deutsch was asking her generally if she thought that publishing and publicizing such viewpoints was a good source to success financially and kept having to return to this premise of cashing in on opinion. But she kept returning to her opinions and then defended her right to say them against the efforts of  "liberals" who attacked her. Fox News describes her as a "slash-and-burn columnist" and if they say that then what can we add to a description of her opinions? I had almost stopped listening to this erratic flip flopping and ready to flip channels when I heard her make a comment about Jews. What I heard was unbelievable.

The transcript of the dialogue can be read here. Deutsch asked her: "If you had your way ... and your dreams, which are genuine, came true ... what would this country look like?"

Coulter responded, "It would look like New York City during the [2004] Republican National Convention. In fact, that's what I think heaven is going to look like." She described the convention as follows: "People were happy. They're Christian. They're tolerant. They defend America." Deutsch then asked, "It would be better if we were all Christian?" and she answered yes.

I will not, like every website has it seems, replay the transcript. But the main idea is that Jews are defective spiritually and are in need of "Jesus Christ" to "perfect" them (their spiritual standing and "salvation"). This would incidentally indicate to Jews that the Bible, whose instructions they strive to conform, describing Israel's obligations and covenant with the God of Israel, is also spiritually defective. And in such a case, as Coulter contends, the faith of Israel is to be jettisoned and Jews (and all others) should become Christians. Saying such things today in a pluralistic society is very offensive to many people, if not repugnant.

Shouldn't it go without saying that each religion sees itself as the answer to life, happiness, and whatever else people want or need? As a Jew, a Yahwist, I think everyone would be happier and the world better if they embraced God, my God (our God), the God of Israel, and not the God of Christianity. Unlike Christians, I do not believe that non-Jews are damned to eternal torment, do not want to put them into concentration camps, steal their children, or murder them in the millions as Christianity has to Jews and others. So when a Christian says they want Jews to be Christians it is a statement with a track record--one of unbelievable ignorance, cruelty and murder---it is a physical threat. It is a reminder of Christian treatment of Jews throughout history. It correctly puts Christianity in line with the extremist Muslim terror which threatens the West today.

Anne Coulter's statements are not extreme. In fact, what she says is the view of Christianity, historically. And that view is shared by a great number of Christians. Jews are damned if they do not "accept" the Christian Jesus as their god and savior, the atonement for the sin of being Jewish. Go to the hillbilly preacher and ask if it is not so. He'll provide you with his Christian New Testament proof texts that say just this very thing. Read through the writings of Paul of Tarsus which declares Yahwism to be defective and unable to save your soul. This hate of Jewish faith is part of their doctrine and reason for existence. Don't try to protest to a Christian because they see hate as love--they are bound and determined to save you from being a Jew for your own good, eliminating you the Jew, regardless of what God has told us in our "Old" Testament.

Whatever criticism people may have for Anne Coulter's views expressed on the Deutsch program cannot rightfully be pinned upon her. The criticism should go to Christianity itself that teaches such ignorant, ungodly trash that infects and distorts the minds of its zombie adherents. Instead, thank Anne Coulter for giving us a reminder of what kind of religion Christianity is and the danger it presents to Jews and others. I hope she has awakened too many Jews who don't want to think about what kind of people their "friends" and co-workers or mates really are. Every Christian has the potential to become a new Hitler inspired by the "scripture" of their "New Testament."

Too much has been made of purported similarities and common origins between Christianity and biblical faith as Jews and Christians entertain high-minded dialogue. The Christian mobs of the past that burned our synagogues to the ground with our people inside have their counterparts today in the churches, and few of them will heed any rabbi or professor's observations. A few decades later, we are expected to forgive and forget whatever insanity Christians perpetrate against us and act surprised when they decide to do it all again as soon as we convince ourselves they are decent folk.

As Jews we cannot allow ourselves to be deceived by Christians who lie ready to be our inquisitors and executioners. Thank Anne Coulter for reminding us.
